We started out on our trip a little late, and Amber had planned to come, but that didn't pan out because she ended up having to work Sunday night. I remember as we entered Tennessee there were soooo many cow farms. Not that I dont see cows everyday, but they were everywhere. While we weren't in the mountainous region , it was hills and hollows the rest of the way. And, it just seemed to be the oddest thing seeing all these cows on the hillsides. It was just awkward to me. I'm use to them on relatively flat ground but not on mini mountains. Don't know why, it was just an odd sight, but the mini mountains didn't bother them at all, they climbed 'em all without a worry.
When we arrived at the house we were excited to check out the scenery and all the fun things they had advertised on the property. While it was a beautiful property there was a bit of false advertisement there. I mean who'da thought the putting green would be missing half of the green stuff or more. The indoor outdoor carpet it was made from had lost a whole lotta green, and the landscaping blocks that guided our balls to the holes were strown about. We made do with the one putter we found out in the field and knocked around a few balls anyway. Oh, and we thought the hammocks were a cool idea....problem was, one had already given way to someones rump, yep, hole straight through to the ground...we decided to bypass the other, fearing we'd be the next victim. We looked across the field and noticed the badminton court too. I think, surely, they must've had that big storm we'd had recently and that was what tore the seams loose from the net. Anyway, on to our next adventure! Hey! There's some cool paddle boats! So , off we went. Lauren and I hopped in and started peddling with our feet. We got out just far enough that we couldn't just grab the shoreline and step back out, and Lauren decides...."Mom! I think I'm gonna get sick!" then she proceeds with the dry heaving and hyperventilating....her voice breaking and tears coming from her eyes as I peddled and peddled and realized.....uh oh....we're only going in circles! HA!HA! The dern boat was broken! Not to worry, honey came running down and hopped in the other one and pushed us to shore. It was really funny though. How do you get sea sick on a small pond???? I wont let her forget this one, that's for sure...hee! We laughed it all off and went on out for a walk up the creek. There's one thing you can count on in Tennessee and that is awe inspiring nature. Lauren loved hopping across the rocks and wading her toes in the cool flowing water, and Chris enjoyed a four wheeler ride to the extreme. We went to the house after a bit and relaxed in the rockers and played a little ping pong and grilled some ribs . Then we were off to bed. The house was nice and the beds were comfy!
We weren't up for long in the morning before we got a call from Amber. She was going to try to make the trip after working a 12 hr night shift. I was a bit worried, but she insisted she'd stop of she got sleepy. So, Chris and Lauren and I were off for a day of looking at land. I'd brought several listings I wanted to see before we left.
Sorry guys!....I'll continue this later....it's a bit long, so I'll tell you in peices!!!
